what is ransomware?

ransomware is a one type of malware,which blocks entire operating system or part of files and  docs until victim pays a ransom.source of ransomware infection are the same as for usual computer viruses-through email attachments and infected files downloaded with multimedia from malicious websites

the threat is very real.if you use email,browse websites,spend time on social networks,connect to local networks (at work,at home, or in public spaces) or use removable usb drives, whether on a desktop,laptop,smartphone or tablet , you are always a click or two away from a ransomware infiltration.the  most recent ransomware is wannacry.






how do you get ransomware?

ransomware is most commonly distributed by email, social network message and infected  sites.


1)via phishing emails

2)as a result of visiting website that contain malicious programs

most ransomware is distributed by the popular malware infection technique know as "phising",in which you receive an email that is designed to look like it comes from someone you know .the ultimate goal is to get open an attachment of click on a web link that direct to the malware or ransomware . the attacker do so much planning for this attack. for example





visiting  websites 
on the other hand , when we search malicious sites at that time it is possible to we install the ransomware in the system while downloading something






how do we protect yourself from ransomware?

the greatest demand of people suffer from a ransomware attack is the loss of data for ex. pictures, documents , bank information etc.

the best way to protect yourself is update your system whenever needed. or copy your information in to some external hard disk which is not connect to the internet.so attacker cannot reach  to your data or information.

always install updates

the companies often release software updates to fix  vulnerabilities that can be exploited to install the ransomware. so keep your software up to date!!!

use an antivirus software

most of the antivirus detect the ransomware . if the ransomaware is in email attachment file than it detect and delete them. so it is necessary to have an antivirus software on your system and keep it updated!!!
